acclaimed for her “show-stopping,” “ripe, round,” and “searing” voice, Gretchen Krupp is rapidly establishing herself as a magnetic force in the opera world, distinguished by her extraordinary vocalism and compelling theatricality. Her diverse repertoire spans centuries and styles, from classic to contemporary, dramatic to comic.
In the 2026–27 season she makes her Los Angeles Opera debut as Persephone in Hercules vs. Vampires, debuts with the Harrisburg Symphony in Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde, and returns to The Santa Fe Opera for the American premiere of Of One Blood.

Last season she returned to The Atlanta Opera for Götterdämmerung and sang with The Dallas Opera in Dialogues des Carmélites and Don Carlo. In 2024–25 she debuted with the York Symphony in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem and with Pacific Symphony in Das Rheingold, and sang Waltraute in Die Walküre at The Santa Fe Opera.

In 2023–24 she sang in the premiere of The Diving Bell and the Butterfly at The Dallas Opera, made her Pittsburgh Opera debut on short notice, and sang her first Fricka with The Atlanta Opera. She made her Santa Fe Opera debut in 2023, and her European debut at the Château de Versailles.
