BRISCULA, THE MAGICIAN

Ms. Krupp performs the role of Woman from the City in excerpts from Frances Pollock and Bob Misbin's BRISCULA, The Magician,  a production by Bel Cantanti Opera from March 2020

Loosely based on Thomas Mann's Mario und der Zauberer, BRISCULA tells the story of an Austrian family who visits an Italian seaside village during the summer of 1929. A traveling magician and facist, Briscula, targets audience members during his performance for the village. This story warns of would-be dictators and their ability to humiliate and manipulate the masses.
